A good replacement except...

I ordered this to replace a similar one on a 40+ year old Sears (Coleman) triple burner camp stove. I had to do some adaptive engineering since the original igniter’s wires were built into it - there were no connector pins on it. I used a 6d nail to slightly expand a male bullet connector so it snugly fit over the new igniter’s male pin, and crimped the bullet connector to one of the old wires to a burner. A small female spade connector was crimped to the other wire and slid tightly over the igniters male spade.

The one grinch was that it was touted to fit a 7/8” opening. Yeah, it does, but a 7/8” hole is a bit too big for this igniter. It barely caught its two tabs on the opening’s edge, and easily slipped out, and was far too loose, compromising the actual use of the device; it needed solid placement to resist pressing its plunger. I managed to remove the retaining ring from the old igniter, used a Dremel to grind out a couple notches in its inner surface so the new igniter’s retaining arms would slide through, and with the addition of a very thin, appropriately sized metal washer that I also notched, the ring pressed over the igniter from the stove’s inside, and pressed into place so the arms grabbed solidly.

Some igniter replacements I saw during research included retaining ring adapters for such situations, but not this one. Otherwise the igniter provides welcome relief from deciding whether to toss the stove or always having matches handy for it.
