Design Flaw

I haven't cooked with these yet, however I am noticing that the design is void of holes that would allow grease/food to pass through to the bottom of the grill. Instead, channels to hold the briquettes will no doubt fill with grease and debris, thereby reducing the effectiveness of the briquettes simply due to the accumulation of grease.

So far performs well

It hasn't been put to a lot of tests yet, but so far it has performed well. In comparison to the original Captain Cook tray it is much better constructed and hopefully will last longer. The briquettes are flat as opposed to the original ones with slanted sides, presumably to shed drippings more easily, so not sure if flat is better. Otherwise fits well and looks very sturdy.

An Excellent replacement for Cap't Cook

I'm am so happy with heat plates I purchased. The are better designed than the original ones and they have restored my Cap't Cook grill to better than new performance. I was exasperated with BBQ Galore and their lack of a replacement when I found this website. I would heartily recommend these as a quality better than new replacement for a grill that uses this type of heat plate.

Trays fit the gril base perfectly. I wish the briquets were the same as the original instead of the received flat ones, but they work just as well.
