How do you you know when it is time to change your burner? Remove the old burner from your grill and inspect the holes around the burner making sire that they are clear and open fro debris and uniform in shape. If any holes are clogged, you will eventually be forcing more gas through the remaining holes eventually causing the to crack and becoming one large gaping hole. In addition, cast iron gets dry and in salty environments, rust and flaking will occur. Be sure to keep your burner oiled with some sort of vegetable oil.

If you notice that your holes are no longer uniform, replace the burner.
