Comparison Guide: Affordable Luxury vs. Luxury Grills (Delta Heat vs. Twin Eagles)

If you’re a grill connoisseur who spends summers, holidays and game days where food is the center of your outdoor gatherings, a luxury grill is an investment worth making. However, the higher price point of luxury grills might tempt you to opt for something more budget friendly, which is why most US manufacturers have created affordable luxury lines.

Luxury manufacturers like Twin Eagles, have created affordable luxury lines that provide the quality of luxury grills at a more affordable price point to capture more market share. Affordable luxury lines are not “budget” grills by any means and not something you can head down to a "Big Box Store" to purchase. While these grills may not have all the bells and whistles as luxury lines do, they are still top of the line equipment. Luxury grills may have a higher price tag but give you a better grilling experience, offer more features and are professional chef quality.

While it’s hard to compare and one is not “better” than the other, choosing between the two ultimately comes down to your budget and your desired features. In this guide, we’re comparing two of the most popular brands created by the same award winning manufacturer, Twin Eagles (Luxury) and Delta Heat (Affordable Luxury), breaking down the key differences to help you decide which one is the right fit for you. Let’s dive in!

Affordable Luxury: Delta Heat

Delta Heat products are manufactured, engineered and designed by Twin Eagles. This is their sister line that maintains superior quality at a lower price point. It is worthy to note that the first series of Delta Heat Grills were imported. They were not happy with the inconsistency in quality that were determined to find a way to manufacture the grills in the USA.

Delta heat grills offer a high quality, stainless steel, sleek design. These grills include design elements similar to Twin Eagles, like the LED lit control panel, a double-lined hood to contain heat, a built-in temperature gauge and interior halogen lights to illuminate the cooking surface. Delta Heat grills offer three sizes, available in 26”, 32” and 38”, and are used more for traditional grill user and are available in both built in and freestanding options. It contains a U-shaped stainless burner that emits 15,500 BTU’s per burner, stainless round rod grates and ceramic briquettes for heat distribution. These grills are operated by pressing the knob to ignite and use a 9 volt battery powered ignition.

Optional features include a sear burner kit and rotisserie function, however the rotisserie function is an external rotisserie motor and not an option in the Delta Heat 26” grill. You can expect to pay roughly low to high two thousand range (depending on size and features) with a lifetime warranty on the burners and a 15 year warranty on the cooking grates.

Delta Heat Grill Interior

As you can see, Delta Heat grills have a lot to offer. Now let’s see where the differences lie in Twin Eagles grills.

Twin Eagles 42” Grill with Rotisserie

Luxury: Twin Eagles

Think of Twin Eagles as the Rolls Royce of Grills. Twin Eagles grills offer a high quality, clean, unique design and are more structurally sound and durable compared to Delta Heat grills. It is much larger in size, available in 30”, 36”, 42” and 54” in both built in and freestanding options.

Like Delta Heat grills, they contain LED lit control panels, a double-lined hood to contain heat, a built-in temperature gauge, interior halogen lights to illuminate the cooking surface but also contain hood assist that gives the hood a lighter feel and makes opening and closing the hood much smoother.

Twin Eagles grills also contain a U-shaped stainless burner, but the main difference is the BTU’s, emitting 25, 000 BTU’s per burner (compared to 15,500 BTU’s with Delta Heat Grills). Twin Eagles also uses ceramic briquettes for heat distribution, but another key difference is the hexagonal stainless steel cooking grates that are more heavy duty. The cooking grates have a larger mass and surface area enabling greater heat contact with food for a more even cook.

Twin Eagles 5 Part Grilling System

One particular feature in their 5-Part Grilling System makes this grill special and it is the zone dividers, where each burner maintains the set heat of the specific burner, allowing you to cook different foods at different temperatures. Because Twin Eagles grills are larger in size, there is a larger depth between the burner and the ceramic briquettes. This additional space allows for even temperature throughout the grill offering better performance in cooking.

These grills are operated electronically by pressing the knob to ignite but use hot surface electric igniters (compared to Delta Heat grills which use a 9 volt battery powered ignition) which makes lighting your grill as easy as a flip of a switch.

When it comes to the features of this grill, there is a big difference. While the sear burner kit and rotisserie function are optional for 30”, 36” and 42”, both are standard on the 54” model. The rotisserie function is also unique, featuring a fully integrated motor, built directly into the base of the grill head for a clean and modern aesthetic. Another unique feature that comes standard on all sized models of Twin Eagles grills, is a smoker box to incorporate a subtle smokey taste into your favorite foods.

The price is where you're going to see another substantial difference. You can expect to pay anywhere from the mid three thousands to over seven thousand with a lifetime warranty on both burners and cooking grates.
