This briquette tray is the base only and is manufactured to repair Alfresco ALX2 second generation models (excluding 36"). The locking bar and briquettes are sold separately.
It sits above the burner (and below the cooking grates) and is essential for spreading an even flame across the grilling surface. It should be replaced when it is no longer intact. These trays hold ceramic briquettes (sold separately) over the U shaped blue-flame burner. This is not to be used over the Infrared burners in Alfresco gas grills.
This unique heat distribution system is designed to vaporize and add flavor while cooking. When grease, seasoning or marinade drippings fall from the cooking grates onto the hot ceramic briquettes they create flavor for your food as well as radiate more heat thus increasing the temperature.
